Getting Over My Fear Of Weaving

It has been a year & a half since I went to take a beginners weaving class at the Surrey Arts Museum. Since then I have done nothing with my weaving. I have just looked at my 2 looms & felt fear. Fear that I have gotten over my head & I don't feel like I know what I am doing. So last week I decided that I was tired of living with the fear, pulled out my Deborah Chandler DVD & book. I turned on the DVD & followed her instructions on how to do the sampler.

So this first picture is the warp of 2 yards long!

This next one is the warp braided!

I warped the loom from front to back!

So now I am weaving a sampler & really enjoying what I am doing. After this one I have decided to do another sampler & then I have a project that I have had ready to do for a year that I will do!! They are napkins.

I also want to use some of my own spun yarn in a project down the road!! Yeah I have taken the plung!!

Commissioned to Knit

I was asked by my hubby if I would be interested in selling some gloves made by my homespun yarn. I said that I would love to, so I sent some yarn off with Mike to work to see if that was ok with the people who wanted the gloves.

Once everything was agreed upon, got all the correct measurement were taken I finished my Christmas presents & then started the task of knitting up 2 sets of gloves. It took a little of time for me to find the pattern I wanted. I found one that was familiar & looked great with my homespun.

They are now done, washed & are ready to be sent off. I am feeling good about the gloves. I am also proud of myself for stepping up & not allowing my fears  concerns to overtake me.
