Hallowe'en, An Anniversary & A Pandemic

So 28 years ago today Mike & I got married. Yup on Hallow’en!! On that day I could not have imagined being in my 50’s, not having my parents alive, being a breast cancer survivor & living through a pandemic. It is so unthinkable & I cannot seem to wrap my brain around it. When we are young, I felt I would get married, have kids & then live happily ever after. Don’t get me wrong, I AM TOTALLY BLESSED. I have a home, a great life partner in my hubby & a great great job. I have the most wonderful friends. It is not the life I envisioned though. Life goes where life goes. Some things we cannot control…. cancer, death, no kids, hurt, pain, pandemics. So if you are young, be open to know that you can make plans & goals. Remember to leave some opening so that when life gives you some lemons, you have time to make lemonade or lemon pie!! Enjoy the journey becouse that is really what life is. A Journey!! Enjoy, smell the Fall leaves & Spring flowers. Take time.

Kitchener Stitch Isn't Just For Socks

I did not know that the kitchener stitch was used for other things other than socks, did you? I was so intrigued when I saw this pattern in my LYS. It is the Snowflake Muffler by Churchmouse Yarns. It is a beautiful pattern to knit. I used geilsk yarn in a gray for the main colour & purple for the colour work. I find stockinette stitch soothing so having that with a little coloour work made my day.
